4 Green Dupatta

$500.00

18” x 24” with border

The Dupatta series is part of a larger body of work called “Incaptivity,” created while Mr. Wash was serving a life sentence.

A Dupatta is a length of material worn as a scarf or head covering, typically with a salwar (loose pleated trousers tapering to a tight fit around the ankles) by women from South Asia. Mr. Was was attracted to the beauty and innocence of this National Geographic image and decided to incorporate it as a class study of creating skin tones from primary and secondary colors.
